Massive congratulations to Norman Hall who coordinated the entire weekend, and organised the relays on Saturday. Also to Pete Owens who planned the relays. And many thanks to all the DEE members who helped on one or both days.

updated: 24/07/2021
We are sorry to report that Mike Richardson, DEE founder member and Level 1 Controller, died on Saturday 3 July. The Club and his many friends send their condolences to Nicolette and all of Mike's family.
At Mike's funeral in Backford church the orienteering community was represented by several of DEE's more experienced members and former members: Malcolm McIvor, Steve O’Brien, Tony and Jo Thornley (now Airienteers), and Carol and Andrew Tarr. And of course Nicolette and their sons Mark and Simon.
Mike’s O-top was among the decorations atop the coffin.
Upgrade from MapRunF to MapRun6
published: 24/03/2021
We strongly recommend you upgrade your mobile phone from MapRunF to MapRun6. The planner for Frodsham Hill has gone so far as to say that the courses only work properly with MapRun6. We suspect that navigation on other courses may be improved by using MapRun6.

More MapRuns on the way
updated: 11/03/2021
We are planning 11 MapRun events so that members will be able to get back into orienteering after March 29 (when we should move on to the next step of the government Covid-19 roadmap). The maps will be progressively released after that date, along with the necessary guidance.
The areas planned are Caldy, Thurstaston, Snidley Moor (ie Frodsham Hill without the steep escarpment), Runcorn Hill, Eastham, Ainsdale, Halkyn, Frodsham Urban (including Castle Park), Helsby Urban, Chester Urban, Crewe Urban. Paper maps will be downloadable from the DEE web site. You will need the MapRun App on your mobile phone.

Our member Malcolm McIvor has produced an archive showing the development of mapping over the years. Click here to access the archive. For technical reasons, only the Wirral maps are fully accessible on the website at the moment: our best people are working on this (thank you Duncan).
Thank you Malcolm for all your hard work producing this archive.
British Orienteering Safeguarding Policy
published: 23/02/2021
BOF have issued a new version of the O-Safe policy which deals with safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
You can view this policy here.
In support of this, BOF are planning to publish a new orienteering welfare e-learning programme early next month, aimed at committee members, coaches, parents and volunteers, which will provide an understanding of the importance and processes surrounding Safeguarding. We will publish details of this course as soon as it becomes available.
